Product release—supercharged Ellucian ethos, advanced recipe scheduling, and more!

Our product theme for this year is centered around building a strong foundation. For enterprises and institutions, Lingk is innovating across integration patterns (batch and real-time) giving you a strong foundation now and in the future.

This year we have launched some important new capabilities around time-based triggering of recipes and enhancing support of Ellucian’s new Ethos APIs for Banner and Colleague.

Flexible Schedules To Handle All Types of Business & Technical Constraints

Lingk’s Advanced Scheduler for recipes significantly improves your return on investment for cloud and on-premise integration (including Salesforce integration) by automating batch processing and report generation, eliminating server overload, and improving output distribution. No longer do you need expensive licenses for automation software like AppWorx Workload Automation—it’s all integrated into an easy-to-configure solution.

Lingk’s Advanced Scheduler simplifies challenging schedules like:

  • Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm

  • Monday through Friday every 6 hours

  • 1 time every month at 9am

  • At 11:49am on February 14, 2020

Lingk’s Ethos Connector Simplifies Migration to the Latest Ellucian Banner and Colleague cloud offerings

Ellucian Ethos APIs for cloud-based data integration is still new to many higher education institutions and integration specialists. Ellucian Ethos has two primary patterns - Proxy (batch) and Change Notifications (event-based).

With this release, the Lingk Ethos connector now supports the Change Notification patterns. Therefore, you can leverage both event and batch-oriented patterns in Lingk recipes to migrate to Ellucian cloud offerings and innovate with the latest Ellucian Ethos APIs.

And Lingk isn’t done adding value to Ethos. Ellucian just announced a new Ethos pattern, GraphQL (batch), for easier data access. As institutions ramp up their Ethos implementations, Lingk will support the GraphQL pattern.

Leverage More of Your Team’s Existing SQL Skills

Lingk upgraded the Spark Integration Recipe Engine (SIRE) to Spark 2.3.2. This upgrade adds support for all ISO/ANSI standard functions like REPLACE(), LEFT(), RIGHT(),  DAYOFWEEK(), etc. As a result, you and your team will be able to build statements faster and easier.

Increase the Intelligence of Monitoring With New Recipe Environment Variables

When the operations team requests more intelligence on data quality and exceptions for mission-critical integrations, you need to be able to connect the dots between source systems, Lingk recipes, and target systems.

With this release, several new environment variables in the “env” collection can be used in connector properties or SQL statements.  Using these variables, recipes can send additional data points to external monitoring platforms like Datadog, Splunk, and New Relic.

  • executionId
The unique identifier of the running job

  • recipeId
The unique identifier of the recipe

  • recipeVersionId
The unique identifier of the current recipe version

  • recipeVersionNumber
The incrementing number value of the recipe version

Using Recipe Environment Variables

statements:
...
- statement: |
      (envData) => SELECT
              ‘{{env.executionId}}’ executionId,
              ‘{{env.recipeId}}’ recipeId
